    Particulars of this version:

Electric Locomotive EP2 20016 in a rust-brown and black livery of the Royal Bavarian State Railway. The locomotive was already under the DRG, but still in the Bavarian state railway paint scheme. Locomotive has the triple state railway headlights, changing with direction of travel. The locomotive is also available with fine scale wheels for an additional charge, please call to discuss.

    Prototype:

The E 32 with the wheel arrangement 1'C1' was first provided in the proposal by the Deutsche Reichsbahn procurement program as a locomotive for passenger trains on Bavarian routes. As part of the first major electrification wave it was purchased in 1925 with a total of 29 examples, and was thus one of the larger series for this early period. The E 32 has two large, traction motors standing upright in the locomotive frame. These motors power then the transmission, which transmits via the oblique shaft rods on to the jackshaft the force for the driving axles. On the rigid frame sits the symmetrically arranged locomotive body with oblique end wall corners.  The locomotive has still the common end doors, including the bridge plate to the adjacent car. The speed limit was set, as factory setting, at 75 km/h , however, was increased to 90km/h on 8 locomotives through a modified gear . These locomotives were then classified as 132 instead of 32 . After the Second World War, the German Federal Railroad took over 24 locomotives. In 1968 they still owned 22 pieces which were then all classified as 132. This confirms the long and reliable use of these machines. With the spoked wheels and the drive rods it resembles a steam locomotive . The E 32 was initially used in southern Germany, but was later travelling on many West German routes. Towards the end of its era the E32s have been gathered in the Bw Munich Hbf and retired in 1972. The E32 27 is obtained as a single example in the museum today . KM1 starts its entry into the world of electric locomotives with this old, classic electric locomotive.

    Model:

Precision model made of brass and stainless steel with high-performance motor, ESU LokSound XL 4.0 sound decoder programmed with KM1 high-quality sound and a Visaton full range speaker. The locomotive pocesses functional, and via decoder, controlable motorized pantographs. The cab light and headlights, which change with the direction of travel, are warm white LEDs.  The locomotive is powered through a robust shaft drive and a ball bearing gear box. Power pick-up occurs through maintenance-free and noise-free contacts over axle bearings. The wheel treads are made of stainless steel, the buffers are spring-loaded and you can also opened the cab doors. The wheels have elliptical spokes, the cab is highly detailed and painted in various colors. You can look into the replicated machine room which has a switchable engine room light. Locomotive engineer is in cab 1. The  screw couplings are interchangeable with KM1 double hook - or knuckle couplers. Obviously the paint scheme and lettering is prototypical. Works on a minimum radius of 1020mm. The overall length is 406 mm and it weighs 4.5 kg
