Prototype: The class 24 is one of the so called standard locomotives. 95 locomotives were manufactured during 1928 and 1940. It was designed for the fast passenger service at branch lines. Several components were identical to components of class 64 locomotives. Because of its maximum speed of 90 km/h the locomotive was operating on main lines as well as on branch lines.
