In the middle of 1991, the DR listed just over 1,200 tank cars of documentation number 8105 in its stock. Due to the changes in connection with the planned railway reform, the tank car stock of the DR was sold to private renters. The largest customer, KVG - Kesselwagenvermietungsgesellschaft. It acquired around 70% of the tank car stock of the DR and thus also approx. 690 cars of number 8105. In the following period, the cars were technically modernised and adapted to the current regulations. The most obvious example is the equipment with a so-called gas displacement system from the end of the 20th century onwards.
