As the G-cars taken over by the K.Bay.St.B. for milk transport had proven their worth in operation, the DRG bought more of these vehicles from MAN. The proven layout with the two sliding doors was retained, but the vehicles were designed according to the same type principles based on the "Kassel" layout. Despite this competition, the old Bavarian vehicles were also still used for milk transport after the war - in 1952 40 vehicles were listed in the stock.
