Product Features and Details
About 7,000 of the 19,979 Om "Königsberg" produced remained in the western occupied zones and therefore went to the subsequent DB. 2,500 of them were re-designated as "Om21" from May 1951 onwards and included in the newly formed "EUROP" fleet. However, as early as the mid-1950s they were dismantled and rebuilt in the old dimensions as welded Om31s as part of full reconditioning or new Omm 53/54 and 55 were built from parts of them. In 1962 there were still 390 old cars remaining, the stock of which now quickly decreased. In 1969 the last two - meanwhile classed as E 019 - were decommissioned.
