Of the Prussian compartment coaches of D.I.23 design, one single specimen went to the BBÖ. The former 41674 was renamed as C4 42411 but otherwise remained unchanged in terms of its outward appearance. Later, so called "ribbed cars" were built onto the undercarriages of numerous old coaches. The undercarriages were standardised in the same way as the converted cars of the DB and the Reko cars of the DR and provided with new standardised bodies. Many of the coaches thus created were still in use in the 1980s.
