Prototype: Although only present in small numbers, the VT 45.5 managed to reach the computerised era at DB and were renamed as the BR 645 in an EDP-compliant manner. The last railcars were in service in the Hannover railway division at Hildesheim railway depot and, from here, were utilised on the surrounding routes.
