At the end of the Second World War, the electric traction had collapsed in central Germany and many of the current systems and locomotives were worn as reparations to the Soviet Union. According to an agreement between the young GDR and the USSR came early 50s transported away some of the locomotives back to Deutsche Reichsbahn.
