The two Bavarian EG 4X1 / 1 were after the First World War still exist and have been taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn, Group Administration Bavaria. From 1923 the complex designation by the simpler designation EC 1 was replaced by the DRG they were then in 1926 the E 73 series assigned. Both locomotives were always based in Freilassing, in addition to their regular route they were also used for shunting purposes in Salzburg. Apparently the DRG was very satisfied with the locomotives, because only in 1937 and 1941, she left the service. One of the two electric locomotives was converted into a snow plow, which then made many more years of loyal service.
