Product Features and Details
At the end of the 1970s, the VEB "LEW Hennigsdorf" developed the V 100.4 version from the V 100. Without train heating and with a maximum speed of only 65 kph, it was especially suitable for shunting duties. The DR received 37 engines, which were particularly conspicuous due to their orange livery. The roundhouse Wittenberge, to which the locomotives with the numbers 111 007 and 111?010 belonged, often used its locomotives in double traction to the seaports of Wismar and Rostock. The transportation of chlorine gas trains from Brzeg Dolny (Poland) to Stade and Marl, the transport of which was connected with detailed safety measures, was also one of their tasks.
