For service on secondary lines with a light superstructure, the Württembergische Staatsbahn bought ten-coupled tender locomotives of Class Tn with 11 tonnes axle pressure, which were built by the locomotive factory Esslingen between 1911 and 1914. The Württemberg T5 (also available from BRAWA) was the model for this development, many parts of which were the same as the Tn. All 30 Tns were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft as 94 101 to 94 130 and provided very good service in particular on the hilly routes of the Black Forest. The Tns faced their biggest test when the Rhine route near Offenburg in Baden was blocked by French troops. All traffic had to be redirected with the tender locomotives via Rottweil - Villingen! All engines survived the Second World War and were assigned to the fleet of the DB. In addition to service on secondary lines, they were also used for shunting duties at small shunting stations. At large shunting stations the Prussian sister 94.5-17 had established itself. Between 1957 and 1961, decommissioning took place - the last locomotive was the 94 113 of the Bw Tübingen. Unfortunately, none of the engines survived.
