By building new cars and converting existing ones, the Royal Württemberg State Railway Company had a total of 75 flat cars with two platforms from 1863 onwards. Although these vehicles were originally designated as slag cars, they were actually universal cars that were used for many kinds of freight. Before the dawn of the truck age, horse-drawn furniture cars were used for home removals. These were loaded onto railcars at the station before rolling off quickly and safely to their destination.
