Product Features and Details
In 1987 the then Deutsche Bundesbahn introduced yet again a new colour concept for powered units and cars.
The locomotives were painted in orient red with a contrast surface in light grey, the so-called bib, on the face fronts. The appearance of the 216 series locomotives actually benefited from the colour concept: The trapeze-shaped bib was well matched to the locomotive body of rounded surfaces which was typical for the whole 216 family.
